Egyptian Man, Ex-Wife Get Jail in California for Enslaving 10-Year-Old Girl
Tuesday, October 24, 2006

SANTA ANA, California — An Egyptian man and his ex-wife were sentenced Monday for enslaving a girl from their home country for two years while forcing her to work under harsh conditions for no pay.

Abdel-Nasser Youssef Ibrahim, 45, was sentenced to three years in prison, and his former wife, Amal Ahmed Ewis Abdel-Motelib, 43, received a 22-month sentence. U.S. District Judge James V. Selna ordered the pair to pay restitution of $76,173 to the girl, who is now 16 years old, for the work she performed.

Ibrahim and his ex-wife each pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy, holding a person in involuntary servitude through force or coercion, obtaining labor through unlawful force or coercion and harboring an illegal alien.

Prosecutors said the two will serve their sentences before being deported to Egypt for overstaying their visas.

The pair brought the girl into the United States in August 2000 when she was 10, and ordered her to clean their Orange County home and take care of their five children while she lived in squalid conditions. She also was prevented from leaving the house.

Saudi woman pleads guilty in nanny slave case
By Sue Lindsay, Rocky Mountain News
May 9, 2006
A Saudi Arabian woman indicted with her husband for keeping a young Indonesian woman in their home as a virtual slave pleaded guilty to reduced charges today in federal court.
Sarah Khonaizan, 35, pleaded guilty to a charge of harboring an alien in the U.S. for private financial gain. Her sentence could range from probation to up to a year in prison, depending on how federal sentencing guidelines fall in the case. Her sentencing is set for July 28. Prosecutors have agreed to seek a sentence of probation with home detention.

Khonaizan and her husband, Homaidan Al-Turki are charged in U.S. District Court and in Arapahoe County District Court with keeping the woman in their home for four years, forcing her to perform long hours of housework and child care for very little Pay. Al-Turki also is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting her.

Khonaizan is expected to plead guilty in the state case on Friday.

Defense attorney Forrest Lewis said Khonaizan pleaded guilty to put the case behind her. Facing deportation as an illegal alien convicted as a felon, she has agreed to return to Saudi Arabia once her obligations to the courts are completed.

"She wants to go back home," Lewis said.

"She's concerned about her family," he said. "They have five children. She wants to bring this case to a conclusion in a way that allows them to get back to normal. That was a huge motivation for her."

U.S. District Judge Walker Miller deferred formal acceptance of the plea until a pre-sentence investigation is completed in the case.

Muslim slave holder Al Turki tied to terrorism out on $400,000 bail paid by Saudi Arabia - is he related to Saudi officials?
November 8, 2005

MIM: Al Turki 'coincidentally has the same last name as many members of the Saudi royal family. It is also interesting that he seems to be so well known to the Saudi governement (he runs a publishing house) that they paid his bail. In addition to the charges of kidnapping, enslaving and sexually abusing a woman - Al Turki is now suspected being tied to terrorism. This tie was obvious since his company was closely aligned with the Islamic Assembly of North America, whose members have been jailed on terrroism charges. Another intriquing possibliity is that Al Turki is related to Saudi officials who make up the Saudi ruling family.

Apropriatedly one of the books Al Turki's book company sells is Islamic Extremism - written by Jamal Zarabozo a well known Islamist whose work was considered too extreme even by fellow Muslims !

lengkap sudah!
