It's official! Today, the Jakarta-based militant moslem organization Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) has issued a "Somasi" (legal grievance) to the Governor of Bali and the island's community leaders for their opposition to the Anti Pornography Bill.

In the Somasi, the organization attacked the Balinese's cultural rationales for the rejection as "irrational and did not based on actual facts". On the economic rationale (that the bill will kill the the island's tourism industry), the Somasi stated that tourism "has given birth to various vices, including prostitution and drugs abuse," and that the industry "has enslaved the Balinese".

On the "Bali Independence" issue, voiced by a minuscule element of Balinese people, the Somasi called it as "a form of tyranny by the minority" and "a statement of war against the Republic of Indonesia."

MMI demanded that the Indonesian government and military should take an immediate and "firm action against the disintegrative element."

If the government and the military failed to do so, it threatened that the MMI, along with other moslem organizations, were ready "to finish (the job)."

The Somasi did not elaborate on what exactly did the MMI mean by "to finish (the job)." But, it sounded quite scary, didnt it?

Failure to comply to a Somasi usually ends in a legal battle in the court. Somehow, we have a feeling that the failure to comply to this Somasi will end in a quite different form of battle.

The Somasi was signed by MMI's head of Data and Information Department, Fauzan Al-Anshari. His cell number is 0811-100138.

Well, anybody want to have a little chat with this guy? or send an SMS?
