Jakarta joins cartoon protests

More than 100 protesters took part
Protesters in Indonesia have staged a demonstration inside the lobby of a building in which the Danish embassy is based.
The demonstration is the latest in a series of protests around the world against the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.
Indonesia's media had not paid much attention to the issue.
But awareness seems to have grown after a local newspaper posted one of the cartoons on its website on Thursday.
Friday's protest was noisy and passionate, but by Indonesian standards, relatively small scale.
It was led by members of the Islamic Defenders Front, a hardline Muslim organisation with a reputation for direct action.

Eggs were thrown at the Danish coat of arms; the country's flag was torn down and set on fire.
But the crowd was pacified after the Danish ambassador invited some of the protesters to discuss the issue.
One of those who took part in the meeting told the BBC the ambassador had apologised for any offence caused and that the apology had been accepted.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Indonesia's largest moderate Muslim group has called for all Muslims around the world to remain calm and not to allow themselves to be provoked by what he called "the stupid actions of those who belittle our prophet".
The issue only really came to prominence here when a local newspaper posted on its website an example of one of the cartoons in question as part of its coverage of the story.
That in itself caused offence, prompting an unqualified apology from the editors.
The question now is whether the protests gain momentum and galvanise broader public opinion.
